Massachusetts ‘Big Man’ to take part in Puppy Bowl 2024

A Massachusetts rescue dog known as “Big Man” is set to participate in the 20th edition of the Puppy Bowl this Sunday, as NewsCenter 5 first reported. Big Man is a 7-month-old Chihuahua-Pomeranian mix. He is one of the 131 rescue dogs set to participate in the Puppy Bowl. Big Man represents Great Dog Rescue New England, where he was a foster pup before finding his forever home in Waltham.”It’s impossible not to fall in love with those giant ears,” said Erin Barnicle, Big Man’s human.Barnicle believes that Big Man may have a competitive advantage due to the training he’s had with his three fur siblings, Cricket, Easton, and Jack, along with his 5-year-old human brother, Spencer.”He thinks he’s the boss of the crew. He’s the littlest of all of them, but he tells them all where to go and what to do,” Barnicle said.The Puppy Bowl is not just a chance for Big Man to show off his playmaking ability, but also an opportunity to give New England fans something to cheer about this season. It’s also a platform to spread awareness about the life-saving work rescue organizations are doing across the country.”Seeing these dogs and the resilience they show is pretty spectacular and they’re kind and forgiving and loyal and loving and all the things you wish every human could be,” Barnicle said.Puppy Bowl XX airs at 2 p.m. on Sunday on Animal Planet and streaming on Discovery Plus and Max.
