Moving can be difficult, even without having to bid farewell to a beloved companion. A TikTok video posted by @lauraobyrne1 shows firsthand how sad such an event can be.

In the video, Laura’s sister Ariane bids farewell to their senior dog Max. The 14-year-old pooch will be “lost without her” text overlay on the video reads. Particularly devastating to viewers is the audio in which Ariane can be heard telling Max “I love you so much and thank you for being my best little friend, and if you need to die you can die. OK?”

Ariane is moving from Ireland to Canada for two years. Luckily, her sister will remain behind to care for the beloved pooch. A video update from Laura reassures viewers that she will care for Max in Ariane’s absence.
